Far East National Bank Raises over $9,100 for Junior Achievement of Southern California

Los Angeles, CA – July 11, 2008 -- Far East National Bank (“FENB”) announced today that they raised over $9,100 for Junior Achievement (JA) of Southern California, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs
As participants in the Astro Bowl 2008 Bowl-A-Thon, over 80 FENB employees raised funds from their peers, family, and friends over a 2-week period, which culminated in an evening of bowling, food, and fun on June 25, 2008.
As a sponsor and partner of Junior Achievement since 2006, FENB employees have dedicated over 700 hours to date teaching curriculum to elementary, middle school, and high school students. Far East National Bank was named JA’s 2007 Corporate Partner of the Year for the San Gabriel Valley region. FENB was also the first participant in an inaugural 6-week course in April 2007 that taught entrepreneurial skills to students at Rose City High School in Pasadena and enabled interaction between students and bank staff.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Far East National Bank has 15 offices throughout California, a representative office in Beijing, and a Vietnam branch. The bank’s customers have access to a CrossPacific service network through its parent, SinoPac Holdings, a fully integrated financial institution with total assets of US$34 billion and over 2.5 million customers in Asia and North America.
JA Worldwide is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. JA of Southern California serves 10 counties and its 8,000 classroom volunteers taught programs to nearly 200,000 students in the FY07-08 year. JA Finance Park opened in Los Angeles in 2007, the only one of its kind in California where students practice making wise financial decision in a simulated community.
