Overview

FENB's Undergraduate Management Development Program is designed to attract high growth potential individuals with the desire to become the future core management of the bank. Candidates must possess a high interest in a career in the financial service sector and be ready to commit themselves to superior performance— during the program and after the program. This is an intensive six-month training program, which includes classroom training and field assignments throughout the branch and operating systems. There is no “sit behind the desk and punch numbers” mentality here. Just a face to face, hands-on, jump in and roll up your sleeves experience. In this banking career, you will enjoy:

Trainee Responsibilities

  • Study and understand the structure, strategy, functions, and critical success factors for bank operations in various departments. Assist Branch Management throughout the district’s various locations.
  • Become familiar with FENB’s policies and procedures, demonstrate understanding of various departments by completing hands-on project assignments, and support and promote management’s strategies for achievement of sales goals and objectives.
  • Empower, lead, and motivate others in a strong team environment.
  • Take pride in always giving your best and demonstrating a strong motivation to succeed.
  • Demonstrate initiative in anticipating issues and developing ideas to resolve problems.

General Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • No previous banking experience required
  • Proven ability to adapt and respond appropriately to changing work demands, and be a self-starter
  • Strong analytical and decision making abilities
  • A track record of excellent customer relations and strong motivation to work with people.
  • Candidate must furnish proof of permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Specific Qualifications and Preferences

1. Corporate Banking Group – Junior Portfolio Manager (2 openings)

  • Fundamental knowledge in accounting
  • Preference: 2 years plus working experience

2. Asia Pacific Banking Group – Junior Portfolio Manager (1 opening)

  • Fundamental knowledge in accounting
  • Preference: Bilingual – English and Mandarin speaking

3. Commercial Banking North (Bay Area) – Junior Portfolio Manager (1 opening)

  • B.A. in Finance, Accounting, or Economics major.

4. Commercial Banking South (Los Angeles) – Junior Portfolio Manager (1 opening)

  • B.A. in Finance, Accounting, or Economics major.
  • Preference: California State real estate agent license

5. Risk Settlement Department – Junior Risk Control Officer (1 opening)

  • B.A. in Finance related major. Accuracy/detail-oriented is required.
  • Preference: Bilingual – English and Mandarin speaking

6. Treasury Department – Junior Trader (1 opening)

  • B.A. in Finance related major. Sales/marketing-oriented is required.
  • Preference: Bilingual – English and Mandarin speaking

7. Human Resources Department – HR Officer (1 opening)

  • B.A. in Psychology, or Human Resources major.

8. Credit Administration – Portfolio Analyst (1 opening)

  • B.A. in Finance related majors. Accuracy/detail-oriented is required.

9. Operations Administration Department – Operations Officer (2 openings)

  • Detail-minded with good common sense.
  • Preference: B.A. in Business, Economics, or Marketing major

10. Cash Management Department – Cash Management Specialist (1 opening)

  • Detail-minded with good common sense.
  • Preference: B.A. in Business, or Computer Science related major.
