Below are helpful tips on how to safeguard your personal information and computer from identity theft and other scams.

Email and fraudulent websites

One of the more common types of email fraud is “phishing,” or sending a fake email message to solicit your personal information. These phony emails are disguised as legitimate messages and often contain the company’s logo.

These emails are sent by unscrupulous individuals to thousands of random email addresses at a time. They ask you to visit a phony website and provide personal and confidential information, including your online user names, passwords, Social Security numbers, and bank account numbers. Although the website may look like the bank’s site, it is not. Far East National Bank will never ask for your personal or account information via email.

Pop-up advertisements

Pop-ups are the advertisements that "pop up" in a separate browser window. When you click on some of these pop-ups, it's possible that you might also inadvertently download "spyware."

Pop-up ads may sometimes look like they come from a respected financial institution and ask you to enter personal financial information, but Far East National Bank will never ask you to verify personal financial information in pop-ups.

Reporting fraud

If you receive an email claiming to be from Far East National Bank that appears to be suspicious, do not reply or click on the link provided in the email.
